In an inspiring feat of teamwork, passion, and dedication to the planet, a group of 20 volunteers embarked on a life-changing journey to the peak of Mt. Agung, Bali’s majestic volcano, for a tree plantation drive aimed at safeguarding the soil. This monumental effort wasn’t just about reaching the top— to plant trees but rather a journey to take meaningful steps towards saving our soil.
With backpacks loaded with saplings and supplies, volunteers began the 12-hour ascent, trekking through the rugged terrain of Bali’s most iconic peak. The climb tested their endurance, both physically and mentally. Along the way, witnessed were stunning views of the island, but more importantly, the firsthand sight of the fragile state of the ecosystem they were trying to protect.
Volunteers Preparing Saplings For Plantation – Base Camp.
After hours of hard work and determination, we reached the ideal planting site. In the cool mountain air, with the clouds hovering close to us, we started planting trees with a shared sense of purpose. Every hole dug and every sapling placed into the soil was a reminder of the long-lasting impact we were making, not just for the mountain, but for the planet.
These trees, when fully grown, will prevent soil erosion, restore nutrients, and support biodiversity. They symbolize hope for a healthier environment, a greener future, and our unwavering commitment to the global Save Soil movement.
